Major Dhyanchand was an indian field hockey player, widely known for his great contribution in the history of sports. Govt. of India awarded him with the highest civilian award Padma Bhushan for his contribution in the field of sports, his birthday 29 august is celebrated as national sports day in the whole country every year.
